Commander and Boosted Tower Level Changes

You may have noticed a change in the Army Power for most of your decks with our recent update. This new calculation was an effort to more accurately reflect the capability of your forces, creating fairer combats. We've learned that this actually overestimated your Army Power in some cases, namely with Nemesis Commanders. This resulted in players engaging in battles labeled fair, which were actually a bit more difficult.

When diving into this further, we realized that Towers were the culprit due to Commander Talent boosts creating large gaps between Troop and Tower levels. When that gap is closer, it allows for more accurate Army Power representation and better battles, so we wanted to take steps to achieve this.

Changes to Boosted Tower Levels

We've deployed a balance fix so that boosted Tower levels will now be based on Commander type alongside their rarity. This results in some Commanders having their boosted Tower levels decreased so they're closer to their Troop levels. We're confident this will lead to better combat experiences. You will notice that your Army Power has decreased for some Commanders more than others, which is an intended consequence of these changes. This change will also help us better define the identity of each Commander. Nemesis for example will be more "jack of all trades" as intended. Here are the details on how the boosted level ranges have been impacted:

  • Hunters, Gatherers, Scientists, and Miners
  • Uncommon
  • All Tower boost ranges decreased from 2-42 to 2-31.

Additional Changes Included

To expedite pushing the changes to boosted Tower levels live, we included some other Commander changes that were in progress:

  • Expert and Racer Commanders have had a portion of their first Talent’s Skill and Speed respectively moved to their other Talents at levels 1, 5, 10, 15, and 20.
  • Safeguard Commanders Troop boost level ranges have been decreased to 1-28 from 3-28.

  • Tur’itan
  • Willpower: Now also provides a boost to Viperwolves.
  • Nan’ti
  • Windwalker: Now also provides a boost to Arrow Storm.

RDA

  • Hester
  • Watchful Eye: Now also provides a boost to Concussion Blast.
  • Connors
  • Crew Boss: Now also provides a boost to Rifle Troopers.
